Welcome to the Corcoran Family History Website

Discover the history of the Corcoran family, originally from County Laois, Ireland, from where three siblings emigrated to New York City in the late 1840s and early 1850s. Two of the siblings, William Corcoran and  Margaret (Corcoran) Knowles, settled in Clinton County, NY, while sister Frances Corcoran remained in New York City.  All three Corcorans had children of their own, with William (my great grandfather) setting the stage for four subsequent generations of Corcorans.  Current descendants of William Corcoran can be found spread out across upstate New York in counties such as Rensselaer, Schenectady, Monroe, Lewis and Onondaga.
